I haven't been blogging like I planned to! I feel horrible I suck at this. I'm moving to blogger soon.
Here's my little take on Sundance. It's old.... SORRY YA'LL!
Sundance Film Festival-
It’s pretty much impossible to cram 20 films in one day, but it is possible to pick a few favorites…. Well for me it’s only ones that look like they’ll be favorites.
The first is Afghan Star, which documents the trials and tribulations of 4 of the 2000 contestants trying out to be “Afghan Star”. It takes your mind off the violence and destruction that you conceive when you think of Afghanistan, and shows you that they, like us, are people too.
Next is Big Fan, which is a comedy about the ultimate fan meeting his idol, New York Giants linebacker Quantrell Bishop, and he turned out to be the exact opposite of what he expected. It stars Patton Oswalt (King of Queens), who is the perfect person to play “Paul”, a “35-year-old parking-garage attendant from working-class Staten Island”. Sounds like a classic.
Then there’s a classic love story, Lulu and Jimi is a love story set in 1950s Germany. It’s about two lovers that are destined to be torn apart: An African American son of a WWII vet and a well off German Woman. The girl’s mother along with her conspirers set out to do everything they can to destroy their relationship. It’s a sex, love, and rock and roll love story themed with music of the 1950s. Total chick-flick!
Last but not least is a film that I’m IN LOVE with and I’ve heard a lot about. It’s called Push. It’s based on a novel by Sapphire, and is very moving. I first read about it in Essence magazine with Mo’Nique, one of its stars on the cover. She spoke of the incest relationship she suffered through similar to the main character; “Precious Jones” goes through. It is probably going to be a HUGE win, and hopefully it will come to screens all across the US.

I made a little calendar of everything I was plannng on writing for this month, but getting back in the swing of school has really proved a challenge for me! I wake up waaayyyy too early for my tastes and I end up going to sleep too late. I wasn't even supposed to me writing today, but I missed most of last week, so I needed to cover something! The Golden Globes was the perfect opportunity to get my mind off the negative things going on in life and focus on something I love, writing about fashion. [:
Sooooo my favorite looks of the night included America Ferrera, Anne Hathaway, and my ALWAYS favorite Drew Barrymore!!!!! [:
The Look: “Inspired by America’s effortlessly chic Oscar de la Renta dress, I kept her look sweet and simple,” said celebrity make-up artist, Linda Hay. Linda used Jouer’s Age Repairing Brightener around the eye and on the nose to illuminate America’s eyes. “The skin, I kept as sheer as possible by using as little as possible. I like to cover whatever’s required without over doing it because America has beautiful skin,” Linda said. On the cheeks, using finger-tip application, Linda applied Jouer’s Lip and Cheek Tint in Amaryllis, a sheer warm read which blended in to compliment America’s skin tone. "On her eyes I applied a light and sheer shimmer all over the lid and inner corner of the eye, with a metallic silver shadow in the crease. Using a black pencil, Linda applied a thin, defined line right above her lashes. Linda applied 3 coats of Dior Blackout mascara to America’s eyes to make them pop!" My favorite substitute for "brightener" is CoverGirl TruBlend Mineral Face Powder in Translucent Honey. It works great under the eyes and I also use it as a bronzer AND eyeshadow when i'm lazy which is most days! I'm also a BareMinerals lover. That's the ONLY foundation I will use, I'm a Golden Deep girl and i'm hooked. Lastly, LashBlast is my absolute favorite mascara. The best i've ever used in my life!
Next is Anne Hathaway. I'm a young girl. I love Anne Hathaway from The Princess Diaries, to The Devil Wears Prada, and now I can't wait to see Bride Wars. I feel like she's living my life through film! Haha!
She wore Armani Prive in a dark blue color. I love dark colors against her porcelain skin. She looks like a doll! True Princess of Genovia! [:
Kate Lee came up with Anne Hathaway’s classic look for the Golden Globe Awards.
Kate chose to keep the eye sculptural and neutral. She took a small brush and blended the darkest shade in the CHANEL QUADRA EYE SHADOW in MYSTIC EYES from the lash line upwards slightly to soften the line. In the socket line, she used a tiny amount of CHANEL SOFT TOUCH EYESHADOW in SLATE (launching in June 2009, given to Kate in advance for the Golden Globes), just enough to define the socket, and a tiny amount along the lower lash line. Next, she curled the eye lashes and applied sever layers of CHANEL INIMITABLE WATERPROOF MASCARA in Noir. Lancome Le Crayon Poudre in Brunet was the perfect product to gently add depth and definition to Anne’s brows.“Anne looked statuesque tonight. The dress was a deep navy colour, the top layer was black net, and had vibrant azure blue beading which complemented her alabaster skin tone. It is always my intention to make the look classic when it is for an award show.”
Kate sculpted the cheekbones with CHANEL POWDER BLUSH in NUDE, and on the top of the cheek bones and along the jaw and clavicle she used Lancôme Absolue Powder in Absolute Peche.
The lips were a perfect dark raspberry shade stain. To achieve this effect, Kate lined the lips in CHANEL LIP DEFINER in NATURAL, a shade that matched the colour of Anne’s natural lip shade. Making sure the lips where moisturized and supple, she gently padded on CHANEL HYDRABASE LIPSTICK in LOTUS ROUGE, blending the edges of the lips so that there were no hard lines of colour.
As a perfect finishing touch, Kate used CHANEL POUDRE CRISTALLINE Utlra-Fine Translucent Powder to take away any shine from the forehead, nose and chin.
Personally, $56 is a bit steep for four little eyeshadows! But, Avon's Triple Threat Cream Eyeshadow in Ocean Tones is a great substitute! Again, LashBlast is my fave mascara! I don't really use blush, I'm a bronzer girl year round! Bobbi Brown has two lip colors that, if blended, could create Anne's lip color exactly! They're from the Glitter Lip Gloss Collection and they're called Rant and Velvet Rope. Finally, BareMinerals Mineral Veil takes away any shine I ever have!
The weather this morning was REALLY YUCKY! It was freezing out… literally! It was raining and the rain was a cold windy rain! Horrible start to the first day back after Christmas Break, but I was still optimistic!
Johnnie and Brittany’s eating habits are the exact reason
Why I’m dieting! I used to eat like that too! <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
